Private Practice is still alive and well in Western New York! I encourage you to join with an organization with a vision and understanding of how to move forward with the coming changes in the health care system so that private practice may not only survive, but actually thrive.
I invite early to mid-career, licensed psychologists to join us at Family Counseling Associates in opening your part-time or full-time private practice. FCA is a multidisciplinary, group private practice located near the Boulevard Mall in Tonawanda. We currently have 19 Providers (7 Psychologists and 12 LCSW-R's). We are a "well- seasoned" group averaging 20+ years of experience. We are looking for new associates to join our group-- particularly if you have an interest in working with kids, adolescents, or couples. Check us out at www.famcouns.com.
Recent changes have opened up space so that we can easily support up to two full- time practices (25-30 service hours/week) and/or 3-4 part-time practices (6-10 service hours/week). I hope to increase the numbers of Psychologists at FCA, so I do not plan to advertise for LCSW-Rs for the next several months.
You do not need experience in private practice, nor do you need to acquire more experience in other settings before making the leap into private practice. If you have your license, FCA provides comprehensive practice management support including: facilities; patient check in/check out by receptionists who collect co-pays/schedule appointments; intake department to facilitate patient orientation to your practice, completion of HIPAA forms -clinical questionnaires, insurance benefits verification, etc. before the first appointment; answering service with Ph.D. secondary backup; speedy medical billing (electronic claims submissions/payments to your bank account); insurance credentialing/contracting, verification, authorization, tracking; marketing/ advertising of your practice with 1400 referral sources; full HIPAA compliance and support; sophisticated practice management IT/software (which includes remote access to your office desktop from home, voice dictation of progress notes, automatic e-mail appointment reminders to your patients); regular financial statements; and in-house collections for delinquent accounts. A challenges/Audits. FCA will support/assist you with managing medical records for requests/subpoenas for court related processes like custody disputes, disability applications, lawsuits, etc. In short, FCA provides the complete package of practice management support, which leaves you free to focus on treating/caring for your patients. FCA manages the details of the "business" of your practice, so that you are free to focus your energies on the "treatment" of your patients. You only need to provide the therapy, document your interventions, occasionally submit an OTR for authorization, and provide primary emergency coverage for your own patients (when you are in town). Everything else is managed for you by FCA. Comprehensive practice management services are offered to you at a very low cost in a "pay as you use" model which maximizes your reimbursement rate as an independent practitioner. Our Psychologists average only 25- 30% overhead costs of their annual revenues. If you establish your practice with FCA, you will have all of the independence and control of solo practice. You decide each patient you choose to accept, the number of patients you want to see, the days and hours you wish to work, and the insurances with which you choose to participate. If you establish your practice with FCA, you also get the full benefits of large group practices.
FCA provides streamlined-efficient-compliant (NYS regulations) forms for documenting your interventions. Proper documentation protects you if you should face insurance company audits that challenge your billing/coding practices. FCA serves as your security officer for HIPAA compliance insuring that all systems keep you and your patient's PHI safe from HIPAA. Finally, you will benefit from reduced isolation and from the opportunity for collegial interactions with respected colleagues. If interested, please give me a call at 716-836-9460. As soon as you hear the talking, please enter 204 to get direct access to me or my private voice mail.
